  • Yeah Graham, there was one laying around at my the farm where my mom grew up,Her and I were out there one day, and she said she could remember her dad digging the basement for the new house they built when she was a kid.Her dad had the rein's around his neck, and 1 horse out front. I could just see the pain in her face as she was telling me about it, as the house sat there deteriating. She was born in 1905, and she was 10 when they built the house, so it was a old one!

  • We had a neighbour build our first farm water supply dam in New Zealand with one of those, pulled with 2 or 3 yoke of bullocks. That was mid 1940s. He also moved farm houses with the same bullocks. They had a steadier and powerful pulling power that horses or steel wheeled and crawler tractors
